Boudoir
I am just gonna go over a few things like wardrobe, makeup, and what to expect at the shoot! I am not gonna lie, if you got this far, then you already know I am not girly so please take this guide as not personal experience with makeup and outfits but with behind the camera experience, lol. Don't get me wrong I have been where you are, so what I am trying to say, we got this! We are gonna have fun!
1.Trends
So honestly I zero percent follow trends, if you have seen something that you would like to try, I am down, but I will be your friend and let you know if it doesn't match the vibe or your personality! Remember your style and the things you feel sexy in, is most important!
2.Variety
Personally I think the more variety of outfits/accessories you have to choose from, the better. I can help guide you in picking outfit or lack there of depending on where we will be shooting the segment at. I would say we normally do 2 outfits, a nude (tasteful of course), and usually an accessory, say knee highs, or one of his t-shirts.
3. Check for tags
I am not just talking about price tags, I am talking about size tags or those strings that help hang your garments. If you can't remove it, we just have to be extra cautious because sometimes they get in the way and can be hard to edit out!
4. Don't be scared of color
Truth, my go to is black, and damn black can look so hot! But don't be scared to grab something with color! Color can bring energy into a room and reveal a little about your personality!
5. Grab a pair of high heels
For me, these are a must for some shots, they just help lift those calves, elongate those legs and help so much with posture! But besides that, using shoes can make for some interesting shots! I would just say make sure you love them!
6.Push-up bra
Girl, sometimes our girls need support and sometimes a boudoir session is just that time, lol. You know what a push-up bra can do, so let's use that to our advantage! Push-up bras add visual power to almost every pose and will have your chest looking its best.
7. It doesn't have to be lingerie
Even though you would think lingerie is a natural choice for boudoir, it's not the only option for boudoir. Outfits such as a button down shirt with heels, or one of his jerseys and panties can be sexy as hell. And lets talk about nude photos, I don't do porn so just know this is about you, these are tasteful and leave lots to the imagination, we are more flirting with the idea of being naked, a blanket strategically placed, a pillow, possibilities are endless, but I am only here to make you feel comfortable and not push you to do anything!
8. Bring a variety of bra and panty sets
Basically what the title implies! It's nice to have a variety from simple to complex so we have endless possibilities! Having a small grab bag of these will allow you to add some color or texture to outfits with little hassle.
9. Try on your outfits
Loose lingerie or lingerie that is too tight can leave red marks or feel itchy. The perfect-fitting outfit will highlight your curves and you want to feel as comfortable as you can, especially once you get into some more involved poses. So please please try on your outfits a day ahead of time!
10. Trust your gut
Find items that naturally draw you to them. Sessions are about YOU. Be honest with what you want. You will feel twice as good on the shoot day when you honestly like your outfit. You want to let your personality shine here, so being honest with what you like is the best first step in that process.
